Join HMD for its Annual Benefit Performance for Artist Pay. Arrive at 7:30PM for pre-show drinks followed by the world premiere of “Ode (to forgotten bodies),” new dance by Hope Mohr, co-created with Belinda He, Jane Selna, Natalya Shoaf, and Karla Quintero, and in collaboration with sculptor Danae Mattes. Celebrate the company’s commitment to artmaking and community building at a catered post-show reception featuring delicious food by chef Steven Levine and beverages courtesy of Honig Winery.

RMK Around the Bay

For its 25th season, beginning in January 2020, Robert Moses’ Kin is holding Pop-Up Performances every month around the Bay Area. Each of these shows will feature one Bay Area premiere (re-stagings of previous commissions from Alvin Ailey, Philadanco, Cincinnati Ballet, etc.) plus other audience favorites.

This March rendition of RMK Around the Bay is accompanied by a workshop for advanced/professional dancers. It will take place on March 29th from 10am till 1pm at the Joe Goode Annex and costs $30 to attend. Ode (to forgotten bodies)

How do we shift ancient patterns of relationship?
How can we recover our freest selves?

Ode (to forgotten bodies), a new dance by Hope Mohr co-created with performers Belinda He, Jane Selna, Natalya Shoaf and Karla Quintero, and in collaboration with sculptor Danae Mattes, explores rhythm as a mode of listening and a portal to freedom. Sculptor Danae Mattes’ installation “River Passage” will hang in the space, conjuring an immersive environment for movement and sound.
