Bahiya Movement’s Believe In Self (BIS) emerging artists mentorship program is an intensive 8-weeks paid residency that cultivates the artistic growth of artists ages 18-24. Led by professional mentor artists, mentees will work collectively to produce a solo and group performance production. Bahiya Movement developed BIS performance residency for emerging dancers looking to deepen their ongoing artistic practice, create connectivity with Bay Area arts community and instill skills to succeed as professional artists. Throughout the 8-weeks residency, there will be 6-group rehearsal with the professional mentor, homework assignment from workbook, individual (1-on-1) mentor/mentee meetings, community networking opportunity with guest community artist, and a final showcase of mentees work developed over the 8-weeks residency.
This program will be streamed in-person at the Joe Goode Annex for a small capacity audience of 20 seats.
