Aura Fischbeck Dance presents the premiere of DUSK, a dance for the time when the light is fading. This evening length work will mark the companys 10th year anniversary of making original performance work in the San Francisco bay area. Created for 4 performers DUSK considers the reality of the body as it exists in relative states of obscurity and visibility, ambiguity and transformation. To enhance this effect the Joe Goode Annex will be transformed by removing the risers and exposing the floor to ceiling windows to let the light in, and the west facing windows will become the backdrop for the dance. The dance, sound and real time quality of changing and ultimately fading light of each day will coexist as an experience of transformation from dusk to dark. With performances by Arletta Anderson, Aura Fischbeck, Phoenicia Pettyjohn and Karla Quintero, and featuring an original composition by Alex Lough, DUSK comes together at the intersection of dance, new music/technology and nature. DUSK reveals the layered spectrum of corporeality which make up the individual bodies of the performers as they traverse and inhabit worlds, both real and imagined, throughout the duration of the performance.
